Conor McGregor claims to have surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo as the world's highest-paid sports star: 'I'm really interested to see Forbes' list'
UFC superstar Conor McGregor has claimed to have surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo in the list of highest-paid athletes in the world – as he predicted back in 2016.
As well as the Irishman's money-spinning boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather last summer — from which he is believed to have pocketed around £100million — he has secured lucrative endorsement deals with the likes of Burger King and Beats by Dre.
In 2016-17, McGregor was ranked 24th in Forbes' list of highest-paid sports stars but is expected to rocket up that list for the 2017-18 instalment.
