ভূটান ট্রিপের ব্যাপারে অনেকেই অনেক কিছু জিজ্ঞেস করেন, এবং সেই সব বন্ধুদের কথা ভেবেই এই পোস্টটা লেখা। লেখাটা পড়ে যদি কোনও উৎসাহী বন্ধুর কিছুমাত্র উপকার হয় তাহলে খুব ভালো লাগবে। যে সকল বন্ধুরা ভূটান ঘুরে এসেছেন তাঁদের অনুরোধ করবো নিজেদের inputs দিতে, যেটা হয়তো আমি মিস করে গেছি অথবা ভুল লিখেছি। সবার মতামত স্বাগত।
আসুন এবার ভূমিকা ছেড়ে মূল বিষয়বস্তুতে যাওয়া যাক।

Q) Which is the best time to visit Bhutan ?
Ans) April to June, তারপর আবার September to November.
বর্ষার জন্য July এবং August মাসটা ভূটান ট্রিপের পক্ষে উপযুক্ত নয়, এবং শীতের কারণে December to March অফ সিজন হিসাবে ধরা হয়।
Special note :-
1) Monsoon often sets in Bhutan within middle of June and may extend upto mid-September. অতএব এই পিরিয়ডটা খাতায়-কলমে সিজন টাইম হলেও এড়িয়ে চলাই ভালো।
2) Though December to February is an off-season in Bhutan yet the influx of tourists remain quite high, কারণ এই সময়ে off-season rates চলে, যার ফলে খরচাপাতি অনেক কম......উপরন্তু ঝকঝকে নীল আকাশের জন্য অসাধারণ ভিউ পাওয়া যায়। যাঁরা ফটোগ্রাফি করার জন্য যান তাঁদের কাছে ভূটান ভ্রমণের আদর্শ সময় হলো শীতকাল। আপনার পক্ষেও এটা আদর্শ সময় হতে পারে, যদি ঠান্ডা আবহাওয়া মানিয়ে নিতে প্রস্তুত থাকেন। এতে খরচ কম হবে, এদিকে আবার sightseeing-এর আনন্দটুকুও পুরোপুরি উপভোগ করতে পারবেন।
Q) Do I need a passport to visit Bhutan ?
Ans) No, Indian nationals does not need any passport to visit Bhutan. If you have one that's fine and can be used as your ID proof, but otherwise you can also use your Voter ID card as an acceptable document.
Special note :-
1) Aadhaar card, PAN Card, Driving licence or alike are not accepted as identification proof in Bhutan till date. The voter card (or passport) is the only option for adults.
2) For children or those below 18 years and still a student, the School Identity Card is the accepted ID proof. You should also carry his/her Aadhaar card and birth certificate as additional proof, in case it is required.
Q) নিজের ব্যবস্থাপনায় যাবো নাকি travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে যাবো ?
Ans) ভারতীয়দের ক্ষেত্রে travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে ভূটান যাওয়ার ব্যাপারে কোনো বাধ্যবাধকতা নেই।
Except citizens of India, Bangladesh and Maldives, tourists from all other countries are obliged to go through a registered travel agent for visiting Bhutan.
এদের ক্ষেত্রে নানারকম নিয়ম আছে, যেমন 3-star হোটেলের কমে থাকতে পারবে না, registered guide ছাড়া ভ্রমণ করতে পারবে না, ন্যুনতম 200 USD per person per day হিসাবে খরচ করতে হবে (peak season-এ 250 USD), ইত্যাদি। এই টাকায় ওদের থাকা, তিনবেলা খাওয়া, transportation charges, guide charges, entrance fee in monuments, ইত্যাদি ধরা থাকে।
যাইহোক, ওসব কচকচানিতে লাভ নেই, বরং আমাদের কথা বলি। আমরা, অর্থাৎ ভারতীয়রা, ভূটানে travel agent এবং guide ছাড়াই ঘুরতে পারি। শুধু তাই নয়, ইচ্ছেমতো যেকোনো category-র হোটেলে থাকতে পারি। সুতরাং travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে যাবেন কি না সেটা সম্পূর্ণ আপনার নিজের ব্যাপার। তবে আমার সাজেশন হলো অন্তত গাড়ির বুকিং-টা কোনো travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে করুন। তাদের থেকে hotel package নিতেও পারেন অথবা direct hotel booking করতে পারেন, কিন্তু গাড়ির ব্যাপারে স্পটে গিয়ে তবে সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়াটা বোধহয় বোকামি হবে।
There are numerous travel agents both in Jaigaon as well as Phuntsholing, and you can contact any one of them. The quoted rates would not vary much as per my experience, but please do ensure that it is a renowned tour operator.I am mentioning the names and contact numbers of some tour operators for your ready reference, but you can also contact any other operator according to your choice, reference or past experience.

গাড়ির সংখ্যা প্রচুর, এবং সবচেয়ে বড় কথা মার্কেটে রেপুটেশন বেশ ভালো।
2) B.K. Tours and Travels : 8536863306, 9593837520.
The first established tour and travel company in Jaigaon, very reputed but recently facing some adverse criticism from few clients. However, he still stands out as one of the most reliable tour operator for Bhutan.
আমি প্রথমে এনার থেকেই quotation নিয়েছিলাম, কিন্তু পরে এমন একটা feelings হলো as if ভদ্রলোক আমাকে ঠিক পাত্তা দিচ্ছেন না। আজকে সকালে mail করছি তো পরদিন বিকেলে উত্তর পাচ্ছি, তাও আবার তাগাদা দেওয়ার পর। শেষমেষ বিরক্ত হয়ে অন্য একজনের কাছ থেকে গাড়ি নিলাম।
আমার সাজেশন হলো যে এনার থেকে hotel+car package-এর quotation নিয়ে নিন, যাবেন কি যাবেন না সেটা পরের কথা। আমার অভিজ্ঞতা অনুযায়ী he is the best person to provide a basic idea of hotel+car expenses in Bhutan trip.

অ্যাকচুয়ালি বারাসতের ছেলে, কিন্তু বেশ কয়েক বছর হলো জয়গাঁও-তে সেটেলড্। বিশ্বাসযোগ্য, হেল্পফুল, এবং পাক্কা ব্যবসাদার লোক, তবে পাক্কা ব্যবসাদার হওয়াটা আমার কাছে আদৌ নিন্দনীয় নয়, বরং প্রশংসনীয়।
4) Ideal Travels (Bhutan) +97517668047.
খুব ডদ্রসভ্য tour operator, তবে শুধু গাড়ি ভাড়া দেওয়ার ব্যাপারে উৎসাহ কম.......total package নিলে যথেষ্ট পরিমাণ উৎসাহ প্রকাশ করে।
5) A 1 Travel Services (Bhutan) +97517672013, +919870109367.
এদের চাকচিক্য বেশি, খাঁই বেশি, তবে ব্যবস্থাপনা ভালো। যাঁরা 3-star plus category-র হোটেল চান এবং Hyundai Tucson/ Santa-fe/Toyota hiace ধরনের গাড়িতে ট্র্যাভেল করতে চান তাঁরা যোগাযোগ করতে পারেন। এই ধরনের প্যাকেজে অন্যান্যদের তুলনায় বেটার রেট পাবেন।
6) Green Heaven Travels (contact person - Deepak) - +919733386512.
সস্তায় পুষ্টিকর টাইপের travel agent, রেট অন্যদের তুলনায় কিছুটা কম, তবে এখনও মার্কেটে ততটা পরিচিতি পায়নি।
Special note :-
1) The travel agents will guide you regarding immigration formalities, and if you are prepared to spend Rs 500-1000 extra (depending on season and group size), they will even take the whole burden of immigration on their shoulders.
ওরাই আপনার হয়ে লাইন দেবে, কাগজপত্র জমা দেবে.......আপনার কাজ হলো সঠিক সময়ে উপস্থিত হয়ে আঙুলের ছাপ দেওয়া এবং ছবি তোলা।

2) If you directly contact any driver rather than a travel agent, then you would save at least Rs 2000-3000 for a 5N/6D trip to Bhutan. However, the reliability of the driver cannot be ensured until you physically meet him and get satisfied with his performance.
যদি আপনার পূর্বের অভিজ্ঞতা অনুযায়ী কোনও বিশেষ ড্রাইভারের উপর ভরসা থাকে, অথবা যদি কোনো নির্ভরযোগ্য source থেকে কোনও একজন ড্রাইভারের বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা সম্পর্কে নিশ্চিত হতে পারেন তাহলে সরাসরি সেই ড্রাইভারকে কন্ট্যাক্ট করুন। এতে অবশ্যই খরচ কিছুটা বাঁচবে, তবে স্রেফ অন্ধভাবে অথবা রিভিউ পড়ে কোনো ড্রাইভারের খপ্পরে না পড়াই ভালো। সেক্ষেত্রে কোনো tour agent-এর মাধ্যমে গাড়ি বুকিং করুন, তাতে অনেক নিশ্চিন্ত থাকতে পারবেন।
Q) Should I engage any tour agent for hotel booking or do it directly ?
Ans) A funny thing in Bhutan is that in many cases you will get cheaper rates from tour agents than direct booking, for the same hotel and same category of rooms. However, the common problem faced by many tourists is that you may land up in another hotel which is not mentioned in your hotel package. The tour agents mention some hotel names in their brochure with a "or similar" clause. আপনি হয়তো ভেবে বসে আছেন যে অমুক হোটেলে উঠবেন, তার সম্বন্ধে খোঁজ-খবর নিলেন, এদিকে দেখা গেল আপনাকে অন্য একটা হোটেলে এনে তুলেছে যার ব্যবস্থাপনা তুলনামূলকভাবে অনেক খারাপ। এই নিয়ে সেই এজেন্টকে যখন নালিশ করতে যাবেন তখন শুনবেন যে ওই হোটেলে রুম ছিল না বলে আরেকটা similar category হোটেলে রাখার ব্যবস্থা করেছে। এটা আরো বেশি হয় পিক সিজনে। অতএব ঝুঁকি নেবেন কি না সেটা আপনার ব্যাপার, আমার বলার কথা বলে দিলাম।
Q) What documents do I require for immigration formalities ?
1) Voter ID card/Passport (original plus two photocopies).
2) School Identity card for students (original plus two photocopies), and birth certificate for added safety.
3) Recent passport size photograph - 2, but it is advisable to carry 4-5 photos as buffer stock.
4) Hotel confirmation receipt (1 copy) for hotel booking in Thimphu and Paro. Permits to places like Punakha, Wangdue, Gangtey, Phobjikha, Bumthang, etc are not issued from Phuntsholling. These permits are to obtained from the immigration office at Thimphu.
আপনার ড্রাইভার সেগুলো করে নিতে পারবে, অতএব ব্যতিব্যস্ত হওয়ার দরকার নেই। এমনকি আপনাকে Thimphu-র immigration office-এ হাজির হতেও হবে না।
Special note:-
1) For immigration purposes at Phuntsholling, you need the hotel confirmation receipt/slip for hotel bookings at Thimphu and Paro.......and not necessarily the Confirmation "voucher" (যেটা কিনা হোটেলে টাকা জমা দেওয়ার পর তবে পাওয়া যায়)। অর্থাৎ আপনি যদি কোনও হোটেলে কথাবার্তা বলে তাদের থেকে booking confirmation-এর কাগজটুকু যোগাড় করতে পারেন তাহলেই immigration-এর কাজ চলে যাবে। আপনি আদৌ সেই হোটেলে থাকবেন কিনা সেটা কেউ দেখতে যাবে না। তবে সাধারণত সবাই advance payment এর মাধ্যমে confirmed booking করেই যায়, সুতরাং এই পয়েন্টটা মনে না রাখলেও চলবে। যদি travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে হোটেল বুকিং করেন তাহলে ওরাই confirmation receipt-এর ব্যবস্থা করে দেবে, আপনার কাজ হলো সেটার ঠিকঠাক follow-up রাখা।
2) যদি খুব ছোট বাচ্চা নিয়ে যান (school-going নয়) তাহলে অবশ্যই Birth certificate নিয়ে যাবেন। ওটাই ID proof হিসাবে গন্য হবে।
3) Immigration offices at Phuntsholling and Thimphu remains closed on Saturday, Sunday, festival days and public holidays. It is advisable to plan your tour in such a manner that your immigration-availing days does not coincide with their off-days, otherwise you would have to waste both time and money just waiting for immigration. Q) What is the easiest way to reach Phuntsholling by land journey ?
1) Kanchankanya Express is the most preferred train to reach Phuntsholling. এটা Hasimara অবধি যায়, যেটা কিনা Jaigaon থেকে সবচেয়ে কাছের স্টেশন। স্বাভাবিক ভাবেই এই ট্রেনে গেলে গাড়িভাড়া অনেক কম পড়ে (Jaigaon বা Phuntsholling যাওয়ার)।
2) You can also avail Kamrup Exp or Teesta-Torsha Exp to reach New Alipurduar, from where you can hire a car to Jaigaon/Phuntsholling.
3) You can reach upto New Jalpaiguri by Darjeeling Mail or several other trains, from where you can reach Jaigaon /Phuntsholling by car.
4) Take flight to Bagdogra, hire a car from airport and proceed to Jaigaon /Phuntsholling.
বুঝতেই পারছেন, উপরোক্ত (3) এবং (4) নম্বর ক্ষেত্রে গাড়িভাড়া কিছুটা বেশি পড়বে, কারণ দূরত্ব বেশি। ছোট গাড়ি হলে আনুমানিক Rs 2,500 ধরে নিন, আর Innova ধরনের গাড়ি হলে 3000-3500 টাকা। যদি A.C. চালান তাহলে 500 টাকা এক্সট্রা।
Q) Can I avail direct flights from Kolkata to Bhutan?
Ans) Yes, there are direct flights from Kolkata to Paro, but you generally have to go through an agent to book them.
ভূটানে বিমান পরিষেবার গল্পটা একটু অন্যরকম। আপনি এতদিন যেমন Indigo, Goair, Spice jet, Air India ইত্যাদির অনলাইন বুকিং করে এসেছেন এখানে অতটা সহজে পারবেন না। মাত্র দুটি বিমান কোম্পানি অপারেট করে - Drukair এবং Bhutan airlines. প্রতিদিন নয়, সপ্তাহের বাছা বাছা দিনে প্লেন ওড়ে। টিকিটগুলো বেশিরভাগই travel agent দ্বারা booked হয়ে থাকে, শুধুমাত্র ঝড়তি-পড়তি কটা টিকিট পড়ে থাকে individual booking-এর জন্য। কলকাতা থেকে Drukair-এর সার্ভিসটাই বেটার, অতএব ওটাই preferred airlines for going to Paro.
আপনি যখন অনলাইন বুকিং করতে যাবেন তখন বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই নিজের কাঙ্খিত তারিখে টিকিট পাবেন না। দেখবেন "sold out" লেখা আছে। যখন "previous day" বা "next day" বাটনগুলো scroll করবেন তখন হয়তো কাছাকাছি তারিখে available পেলেও পেতে পারেন.....সেটা সম্পূর্ণ ভাগ্যের উপর। ফেরার টিকিটেও সেই একই গল্প। একটা "enquiry" অপশন আছে, সেখানে mail করে নিজের request-টুকু submit করতে পারেন, তবে কাজ হবে কি না তার ঠিক নেই। বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই কাজ হয় না।
অপরদিকে যখন travel agent দ্বারা বুকিং করবেন তখন অপেক্ষাকৃত সহজেই কাজ হাসিল হয়ে যাবে, কিন্তু বুঝতেই পারছেন......কেউ তো আর শুধু শুধু আপনাকে প্লেনের টিকিট করে দেবে না, তাদের কাছ থেকে পুরো প্যাকেজটা নিলে তবেই দেবে। বলাই বাহুল্য তাতে overall খরচ অনেকখানি বেড়ে যেতে পারে, compared to a self-arranged trip. তবে হ্যাঁ, প্লেনে গেলে শুধু যে সময় সাশ্রয় হয় তা না, immigration-এর হ্যাপাও অনেক কম। এক্ষেত্রে কোনো শনি, রবি বা ছুটির দিনের গল্প নেই, প্রতিদিনই immigration হয়।

Q) Can I travel Bhutan in my own car ?
Ans) Yes, you can. Permits for plying of personal Indian vehicles may be obtained from the transport office (RSTA) which is situated at Phuntsholling bus stand.
The following documents are needed for the same :-
i) Original Registration certificate of vehicle, plus two photocopies.
ii) Original Insurance Paper, plus two photocopies.
iii) PUC of vehicle.
iv) Your Driving license, if you do not wish to hire a local driver.
প্রসঙ্গত জানিয়ে রাখি - ভূটানে নিজের গাড়ি নিয়ে গেলেও লোকাল ড্রাইভার দিয়ে চালানোটাই বেটার। হতে পারে আপনার driving skill দারুণ, কিন্তু ভূটানের পাহাড়ি রাস্তায় এক একসময়ে এত মেঘ আর কুয়াশা হয় যে সামনেটা পুরো সাদা লাগে। এমতাবস্থায় স্থানীয় ড্রাইভার ছাড়া গাড়ি চালানো বেশ ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ ব্যাপার, অতএব সেটা মাথায় রেখে যা করার করবেন।
Q) Where should I stay in Bhutan ?
Ans) এর উত্তরটা দুই ভাগে ভাগ করে নেওয়া যাক:-
1) Phuntsholling - There are numerous hotels in Phuntsholling, but please note that you only have to stay there for immigration purposes and not for any sightseeing. Thus your target should be to avail hotels near the Immigration Office at Phuntsholling. Under such circumstances, it is not mandatory to stay at Phuntsholling itself. You can either stay at Phuntsholling or in Jaigaon, because these two cities are just divided by an open gate (Bhutan Gate), through which you can freely move bothways (that is, both towards Jaigaon and Phuntsholling).
সুতরাং আপনি যদি গেটের এপারে জয়গাঁও-এর কোনো হোটেলে থাকেন তাহলেও চলবে। যেটা দরকার সেটা হলো Immigration Office থেকে walking distance-এর মধ্যে থাকা, সেটা Jaigaon-তে হোক অথবা Phuntsholling-এই হোক।
আমি দুদিকের হোটেলেই থেকেছি, এবং আমার অভিজ্ঞতা অনুযায়ী Jaigaon-তে থাকা অনেক ভালো। দামের হিসেবে সমগোত্রীয় হোটেলের চার্জ Phuntsholling-এ অনেক বেশি, এবং খাওয়াদাওয়াও বেশি ব্যয়বহুল। একমাত্র মদের দামটা কম, তবে ইচ্ছে হলেই সেটা আপনি গেটের ওপার থেকে কিনে আনতে পারেন।
There are many hotels in Jaigaon, among which my recommended one is "Hotel Kasturi" (Ph : 03566-263036/ Mob - 9609857940).
আমার মতে এটাই জয়গাঁও-এর বেস্ট হোটেল, অন্তত এই মুহূর্তে। খাওয়াদাওয়া ভালো, ব্যবস্থাপনা ভালো, দামও এমন কিছু বেশি না, আবার দু-পা হাঁটলেই ভূটান গেট, এবং গেট পেরোলেই ইমিগ্রেশন অফিস।
2) Hotels in Thimphu, Paro, Punakha, Wangdue, etc : For a detailed list with contact number/website of hotels in Bhutan, you can check the following link :-

It is advisable to get a preliminary quote from any reputed travel agent, check the above-mentioned website to see the category of hotels provided by the agent, follow the hotel reviews in TripAdvisor, make a screening as per your judgement and then contact directly with your screened hotels for final selection and booking. If you get a better price from the travel agent then it's fine, but need to ensure that they don't deviate from the enlisted hotels as mentioned in their brochure, or else you may land up in a comparatively inferior hotel.
Q) What about smoking in Bhutan ?
Ans) Buying, selling and consumption of tobacco/tobacco-related products is strictly prohibited in Bhutan. However, one can carry a maximum number of 800 cigarettes in Bhutan (আগে 200 sticks ছিল), after giving 200 percent surcharge of the same. You will get a receipt after payment of surcharge, which is practically your license for smoking in Bhutan. However, you cannot smoke in open roads as per their law. You can only smoke in designated smoking corners of your hotel.
এটা গেল official কথা। এর বাইরে অনেক unofficial ব্যাপার আছে, তবে ওপেন ফোরামে সেটা আলোচনা করা ঠিক হবে না। এইটুকু hint দিয়ে রাখছি যে ধূমপায়ীদের চিন্তিত হওয়ার কোনো কারণ নেই।
Q) ভূটান ভ্রমণে মোটামুটি কত খরচ হতে পারে ?
Ans) প্রথমে গাড়িভাড়া ধরুন। ধরা যাক আপনার 5N/6D trip, from Phuntsholling to Phuentsholling. মনে করুন আপনারা 4 adults যাবেন, অর্থাৎ ছোট গাড়িতে হয়ে যাবে। এই ধরণের গাড়িভাড়া per day হিসাবে 2500-3000 টাকা পড়বে, depending on off-season or peak season. আপনার তাহলে 6 দিন হিসাবে 15,000 থেকে 18,000 টাকা গাড়ি বাবদ খরচ হবে। প্রতিটা হোটেলে 4 জনের জন্য দুটো করে ঘর ধরুন। সঙ্গে যদি বাচ্চা থাকে তাহলে তার বয়স অনুযায়ী এক্সট্রা চার্জ আলাদা। এবার কিরকম হোটেল নেবেন সেটা আপনার ব্যাপার। সেই অনুযায়ী 5 রাতের হিসাব ধরে গাড়িভাড়ার সাথে add করলেই approximate total expenses বেরিয়ে যাবে।
উদাহরণ হিসেবে ধরা যাক hotel cost per night per room is Rs 2500 on an average. তাহলে 25000 টাকা হোটেল আর 18000 গাড়ি = 43000, which divided by 4 will give you cost per person, that is, Rs 11000 approx.
এর সাথে খাওয়া, আনুষঙ্গিক খরচ, entry fees ইত্যাদি যোগ করে আরও 15000 ধরুন (for 4 adults),
সঙ্গে Jaigaon/Phuntsholling-এ এক বা দুই রাত থাকা (যাওয়া এবং ফেরার সময়, যদি প্রযোজ্য হয়) plus pick-up and drop charges from airport/rail station.
যদি 4 জনের বেশি ব্যক্তি হয় তাহলে Innova ধরনের গাড়ি নিতে হবে, যার চার্জ Rs 3500-4000 per day, depending on season. এই ভাবে একটা rough idea পেয়ে যাবেন টোটাল খরচ সম্বন্ধে।
Q) How to plan an itinerary for Bhutan trip ?
Ans) আমি একটা খসড়া প্ল্যান দিলাম, আপনার সুবিধা অনুযায়ী সেটা modify করে নিতে পারেন।
Day 1 - Arrive at Jaigaon/Phuntsholling, check into your hotel, overnight at Jaigaon/Phuntsholling.
Day 2 - Complete the immigration formalities at Phuntsholling and proceed to Thimphu, check-in at your hotel, overnight at Thimphu.
Day 3 - Thimphu local sightseeing and make permits for Punakha.
Day 4 - Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula pass, visit Punakha dzong, check into your hotel, overnight at Punakha.
Day 5 - Check-out from Punakha, visit the Chimi Lakhang temple (temple of the Divine Madman), proceed to Paro via Dochula pass, check into your hotel, overnight at Paro.
Day 6 - Tiger's Nest Trekking or Paro sightseeing, overnight at Paro.
Day 7 - Excursion to Haa valley via Chele-la pass, and proceed upto Damthang if possible. Damthang is 15 kms away from Haa, and is the last border point of Bhutan. এখান থেকে নাক বরাবর গেলেই সেই কুখ্যাত Doklam, যেটা নিয়ে ভারত-চিন মন কষাকষি চলছে।
Have lunch at Haa and return to Paro via the same route.
Day 8 - Paro to Phuntsholling/Jaigaon/Hasimara/New Alipurduar (according to return journey).
If your return journey is from NJP or Bagdogra then it's advisable to stay at Phuentsholing/Jaigaon at night and proceed for NJP or Bagdogra the next day as per your train/flight timings. Paro to NJP is a matter of 9 - 10 hours by car if you go there directly.
Day 9 (If applicable) - Phuntsholling/Jaigaon to NJP/Bagdogra for return journey
Special note - If you want to visit Bumthang then some more days are required. The route is Punakha to Phobjikha (night stay at Phobjikha) ---> Phobjikha to Bumthang (overnight at Bumthang) ----> Bumthang excursion (overnight at Bumthang) ----> Bumthang to Punakha (overnight at Punakha) ----> Punakha to Paro, then remaining tour as per above-mentioned plan.
*****The road to Bumthang is in a very bad shape at present, যার ফলে বেশিরভাগ tourist এখন ওদিকটা avoid করছেন। আপনি অবশ্য ইচ্ছে করলে যেতেই পারেন, তবে পরতায় পোষাবে কি ? মনে হয় না ! ইন ফ্যাক্ট, Tiger's Nest Trekking ছাড়া ভূটানের কোনো জায়গাতেই খরচ অনুপাতে চোখ এবং মনের সুখ পাবেন না। একগাদা খরচ, অথচ যা প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য দেখবেন তার চেয়ে ঢের গুন বেশি আমাদের দেশেই আছে। নিশ্চয়ই ভাবছেন এত কিছু জানা সত্বেও আমি কেন ভুটান গেলাম, তাই না ? বন্ধু হিসেবে শুধু আপনাকেই বলছি, দয়া করে কাউকে বলবেন না যেন ! ব্যাপারটা হলো যে আমার ভায়রাভাই গতবছর ভূটান ঘুরে এসেছে। এরপর না গেলে কি শ্বশুরবাড়িতে মান-ইজ্জত থাকে, বলুন ?

ভূটান ট্রিপের ব্যাপারে অনেকেই অনেক কিছু জিজ্ঞেস করেন, এবং সেই সব বন্ধুদের কথা ভেবেই এই পোস্টটা লেখা। লেখাটা পড়ে যদি কোনও উৎসাহী বন্ধুর কিছুমাত্র উপকার হয় তাহলে খুব ভালো লাগবে। যে সকল বন্ধুরা ভূটান ঘুরে এসেছেন তাঁদের অনুরোধ করবো নিজেদের inputs দিতে, যেটা হয়তো আমি মিস করে গেছি অথবা ভুল লিখেছি। সবার মতামত স্বাগত।

Q) Which is the best time to visit Bhutan ?
Ans) April to June, তারপর আবার September to November.
বর্ষার জন্য July এবং August মাসটা ভূটান ট্রিপের পক্ষে উপযুক্ত নয়, এবং শীতের কারণে December to March অফ সিজন হিসাবে ধরা হয়।
Special note :-
1) Monsoon often sets in Bhutan within middle of June and may extend upto mid-September. অতএব এই পিরিয়ডটা খাতায়-কলমে সিজন টাইম হলেও এড়িয়ে চলাই ভালো।
2) Though December to February is an off-season in Bhutan yet the influx of tourists remain quite high, কারণ এই সময়ে off-season rates চলে, যার ফলে খরচাপাতি অনেক কম......উপরন্তু ঝকঝকে নীল আকাশের জন্য অসাধারণ ভিউ পাওয়া যায়। যাঁরা ফটোগ্রাফি করার জন্য যান তাঁদের কাছে ভূটান ভ্রমণের আদর্শ সময় হলো শীতকাল। আপনার পক্ষেও এটা আদর্শ সময় হতে পারে, যদি ঠান্ডা আবহাওয়া মানিয়ে নিতে প্রস্তুত থাকেন। এতে খরচ কম হবে, এদিকে আবার sightseeing-এর আনন্দটুকুও পুরোপুরি উপভোগ করতে পারবেন।
Q) Do I need a passport to visit Bhutan ?
Ans) No, Indian nationals does not need any passport to visit Bhutan. If you have one that's fine and can be used as your ID proof, but otherwise you can also use your Voter ID card as an acceptable document.
Special note :-
1) Aadhaar card, PAN Card, Driving licence or alike are not accepted as identification proof in Bhutan till date. The voter card (or passport) is the only option for adults.
2) For children or those below 18 years and still a student, the School Identity Card is the accepted ID proof. You should also carry his/her Aadhaar card and birth certificate as additional proof, in case it is required.
Q) নিজের ব্যবস্থাপনায় যাবো নাকি travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে যাবো ?
Ans) ভারতীয়দের ক্ষেত্রে travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে ভূটান যাওয়ার ব্যাপারে কোনো বাধ্যবাধকতা নেই।
Except citizens of India, Bangladesh and Maldives, tourists from all other countries are obliged to go through a registered travel agent for visiting Bhutan.
এদের ক্ষেত্রে নানারকম নিয়ম আছে, যেমন 3-star হোটেলের কমে থাকতে পারবে না, registered guide ছাড়া ভ্রমণ করতে পারবে না, ন্যুনতম 200 USD per person per day হিসাবে খরচ করতে হবে (peak season-এ 250 USD), ইত্যাদি। এই টাকায় ওদের থাকা, তিনবেলা খাওয়া, transportation charges, guide charges, entrance fee in monuments, ইত্যাদি ধরা থাকে।
যাইহোক, ওসব কচকচানিতে লাভ নেই, বরং আমাদের কথা বলি। আমরা, অর্থাৎ ভারতীয়রা, ভূটানে travel agent এবং guide ছাড়াই ঘুরতে পারি। শুধু তাই নয়, ইচ্ছেমতো যেকোনো category-র হোটেলে থাকতে পারি। সুতরাং travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে যাবেন কি না সেটা সম্পূর্ণ আপনার নিজের ব্যাপার। তবে আমার সাজেশন হলো অন্তত গাড়ির বুকিং-টা কোনো travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে করুন। তাদের থেকে hotel package নিতেও পারেন অথবা direct hotel booking করতে পারেন, কিন্তু গাড়ির ব্যাপারে স্পটে গিয়ে তবে সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়াটা বোধহয় বোকামি হবে।
There are numerous travel agents both in Jaigaon as well as Phuntsholing, and you can contact any one of them. The quoted rates would not vary much as per my experience, but please do ensure that it is a renowned tour operator.I am mentioning the names and contact numbers of some tour operators for your ready reference, but you can also contact any other operator according to your choice, reference or past experience.

The first established tour and travel company in Jaigaon, very reputed but recently facing some adverse criticism from few clients. However, he still stands out as one of the most reliable tour operator for Bhutan.
আমি প্রথমে এনার থেকেই quotation নিয়েছিলাম, কিন্তু পরে এমন একটা feelings হলো as if ভদ্রলোক আমাকে ঠিক পাত্তা দিচ্ছেন না। আজকে সকালে mail করছি তো পরদিন বিকেলে উত্তর পাচ্ছি, তাও আবার তাগাদা দেওয়ার পর। শেষমেষ বিরক্ত হয়ে অন্য একজনের কাছ থেকে গাড়ি নিলাম।
আমার সাজেশন হলো যে এনার থেকে hotel+car package-এর quotation নিয়ে নিন, যাবেন কি যাবেন না সেটা পরের কথা। আমার অভিজ্ঞতা অনুযায়ী he is the best person to provide a basic idea of hotel+car expenses in Bhutan trip.

অ্যাকচুয়ালি বারাসতের ছেলে, কিন্তু বেশ কয়েক বছর হলো জয়গাঁও-তে সেটেলড্। বিশ্বাসযোগ্য, হেল্পফুল, এবং পাক্কা ব্যবসাদার লোক, তবে পাক্কা ব্যবসাদার হওয়াটা আমার কাছে আদৌ নিন্দনীয় নয়, বরং প্রশংসনীয়।
4) Ideal Travels (Bhutan) +97517668047.
খুব ডদ্রসভ্য tour operator, তবে শুধু গাড়ি ভাড়া দেওয়ার ব্যাপারে উৎসাহ কম.......total package নিলে যথেষ্ট পরিমাণ উৎসাহ প্রকাশ করে।

এদের চাকচিক্য বেশি, খাঁই বেশি, তবে ব্যবস্থাপনা ভালো। যাঁরা 3-star plus category-র হোটেল চান এবং Hyundai Tucson/ Santa-fe/Toyota hiace ধরনের গাড়িতে ট্র্যাভেল করতে চান তাঁরা যোগাযোগ করতে পারেন। এই ধরনের প্যাকেজে অন্যান্যদের তুলনায় বেটার রেট পাবেন।
6) Green Heaven Travels (contact person - Deepak) - +919733386512.
সস্তায় পুষ্টিকর টাইপের travel agent, রেট অন্যদের তুলনায় কিছুটা কম, তবে এখনও মার্কেটে ততটা পরিচিতি পায়নি।
Special note :-
1) The travel agents will guide you regarding immigration formalities, and if you are prepared to spend Rs 500-1000 extra (depending on season and group size), they will even take the whole burden of immigration on their shoulders.
ওরাই আপনার হয়ে লাইন দেবে, কাগজপত্র জমা দেবে.......আপনার কাজ হলো সঠিক সময়ে উপস্থিত হয়ে আঙুলের ছাপ দেওয়া এবং ছবি তোলা।

2) If you directly contact any driver rather than a travel agent, then you would save at least Rs 2000-3000 for a 5N/6D trip to Bhutan. However, the reliability of the driver cannot be ensured until you physically meet him and get satisfied with his performance.
যদি আপনার পূর্বের অভিজ্ঞতা অনুযায়ী কোনও বিশেষ ড্রাইভারের উপর ভরসা থাকে, অথবা যদি কোনো নির্ভরযোগ্য source থেকে কোনও একজন ড্রাইভারের বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা সম্পর্কে নিশ্চিত হতে পারেন তাহলে সরাসরি সেই ড্রাইভারকে কন্ট্যাক্ট করুন। এতে অবশ্যই খরচ কিছুটা বাঁচবে, তবে স্রেফ অন্ধভাবে অথবা রিভিউ পড়ে কোনো ড্রাইভারের খপ্পরে না পড়াই ভালো। সেক্ষেত্রে কোনো tour agent-এর মাধ্যমে গাড়ি বুকিং করুন, তাতে অনেক নিশ্চিন্ত থাকতে পারবেন।
Q) Should I engage any tour agent for hotel booking or do it directly ?
Ans) A funny thing in Bhutan is that in many cases you will get cheaper rates from tour agents than direct booking, for the same hotel and same category of rooms. However, the common problem faced by many tourists is that you may land up in another hotel which is not mentioned in your hotel package. The tour agents mention some hotel names in their brochure with a "or similar" clause. আপনি হয়তো ভেবে বসে আছেন যে অমুক হোটেলে উঠবেন, তার সম্বন্ধে খোঁজ-খবর নিলেন, এদিকে দেখা গেল আপনাকে অন্য একটা হোটেলে এনে তুলেছে যার ব্যবস্থাপনা তুলনামূলকভাবে অনেক খারাপ। এই নিয়ে সেই এজেন্টকে যখন নালিশ করতে যাবেন তখন শুনবেন যে ওই হোটেলে রুম ছিল না বলে আরেকটা similar category হোটেলে রাখার ব্যবস্থা করেছে। এটা আরো বেশি হয় পিক সিজনে। অতএব ঝুঁকি নেবেন কি না সেটা আপনার ব্যাপার, আমার বলার কথা বলে দিলাম।
Q) What documents do I require for immigration formalities ?
1) Voter ID card/Passport (original plus two photocopies).
2) School Identity card for students (original plus two photocopies), and birth certificate for added safety.
3) Recent passport size photograph - 2, but it is advisable to carry 4-5 photos as buffer stock.
4) Hotel confirmation receipt (1 copy) for hotel booking in Thimphu and Paro. Permits to places like Punakha, Wangdue, Gangtey, Phobjikha, Bumthang, etc are not issued from Phuntsholling. These permits are to obtained from the immigration office at Thimphu.
আপনার ড্রাইভার সেগুলো করে নিতে পারবে, অতএব ব্যতিব্যস্ত হওয়ার দরকার নেই। এমনকি আপনাকে Thimphu-র immigration office-এ হাজির হতেও হবে না।
Special note:-
1) For immigration purposes at Phuntsholling, you need the hotel confirmation receipt/slip for hotel bookings at Thimphu and Paro.......and not necessarily the Confirmation "voucher" (যেটা কিনা হোটেলে টাকা জমা দেওয়ার পর তবে পাওয়া যায়)। অর্থাৎ আপনি যদি কোনও হোটেলে কথাবার্তা বলে তাদের থেকে booking confirmation-এর কাগজটুকু যোগাড় করতে পারেন তাহলেই immigration-এর কাজ চলে যাবে। আপনি আদৌ সেই হোটেলে থাকবেন কিনা সেটা কেউ দেখতে যাবে না। তবে সাধারণত সবাই advance payment এর মাধ্যমে confirmed booking করেই যায়, সুতরাং এই পয়েন্টটা মনে না রাখলেও চলবে। যদি travel agent-এর মাধ্যমে হোটেল বুকিং করেন তাহলে ওরাই confirmation receipt-এর ব্যবস্থা করে দেবে, আপনার কাজ হলো সেটার ঠিকঠাক follow-up রাখা।
2) যদি খুব ছোট বাচ্চা নিয়ে যান (school-going নয়) তাহলে অবশ্যই Birth certificate নিয়ে যাবেন। ওটাই ID proof হিসাবে গন্য হবে।
3) Immigration offices at Phuntsholling and Thimphu remains closed on Saturday, Sunday, festival days and public holidays. It is advisable to plan your tour in such a manner that your immigration-availing days does not coincide with their off-days, otherwise you would have to waste both time and money just waiting for immigration. Q) What is the easiest way to reach Phuntsholling by land journey ?
1) Kanchankanya Express is the most preferred train to reach Phuntsholling. এটা Hasimara অবধি যায়, যেটা কিনা Jaigaon থেকে সবচেয়ে কাছের স্টেশন। স্বাভাবিক ভাবেই এই ট্রেনে গেলে গাড়িভাড়া অনেক কম পড়ে (Jaigaon বা Phuntsholling যাওয়ার)।
2) You can also avail Kamrup Exp or Teesta-Torsha Exp to reach New Alipurduar, from where you can hire a car to Jaigaon/Phuntsholling.
3) You can reach upto New Jalpaiguri by Darjeeling Mail or several other trains, from where you can reach Jaigaon /Phuntsholling by car.
4) Take flight to Bagdogra, hire a car from airport and proceed to Jaigaon /Phuntsholling.
বুঝতেই পারছেন, উপরোক্ত (3) এবং (4) নম্বর ক্ষেত্রে গাড়িভাড়া কিছুটা বেশি পড়বে, কারণ দূরত্ব বেশি। ছোট গাড়ি হলে আনুমানিক Rs 2,500 ধরে নিন, আর Innova ধরনের গাড়ি হলে 3000-3500 টাকা। যদি A.C. চালান তাহলে 500 টাকা এক্সট্রা।
Q) Can I avail direct flights from Kolkata to Bhutan?
Ans) Yes, there are direct flights from Kolkata to Paro, but you generally have to go through an agent to book them.
ভূটানে বিমান পরিষেবার গল্পটা একটু অন্যরকম। আপনি এতদিন যেমন Indigo, Goair, Spice jet, Air India ইত্যাদির অনলাইন বুকিং করে এসেছেন এখানে অতটা সহজে পারবেন না। মাত্র দুটি বিমান কোম্পানি অপারেট করে - Drukair এবং Bhutan airlines. প্রতিদিন নয়, সপ্তাহের বাছা বাছা দিনে প্লেন ওড়ে। টিকিটগুলো বেশিরভাগই travel agent দ্বারা booked হয়ে থাকে, শুধুমাত্র ঝড়তি-পড়তি কটা টিকিট পড়ে থাকে individual booking-এর জন্য। কলকাতা থেকে Drukair-এর সার্ভিসটাই বেটার, অতএব ওটাই preferred airlines for going to Paro.
আপনি যখন অনলাইন বুকিং করতে যাবেন তখন বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই নিজের কাঙ্খিত তারিখে টিকিট পাবেন না। দেখবেন "sold out" লেখা আছে। যখন "previous day" বা "next day" বাটনগুলো scroll করবেন তখন হয়তো কাছাকাছি তারিখে available পেলেও পেতে পারেন.....সেটা সম্পূর্ণ ভাগ্যের উপর। ফেরার টিকিটেও সেই একই গল্প। একটা "enquiry" অপশন আছে, সেখানে mail করে নিজের request-টুকু submit করতে পারেন, তবে কাজ হবে কি না তার ঠিক নেই। বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই কাজ হয় না।
অপরদিকে যখন travel agent দ্বারা বুকিং করবেন তখন অপেক্ষাকৃত সহজেই কাজ হাসিল হয়ে যাবে, কিন্তু বুঝতেই পারছেন......কেউ তো আর শুধু শুধু আপনাকে প্লেনের টিকিট করে দেবে না, তাদের কাছ থেকে পুরো প্যাকেজটা নিলে তবেই দেবে। বলাই বাহুল্য তাতে overall খরচ অনেকখানি বেড়ে যেতে পারে, compared to a self-arranged trip. তবে হ্যাঁ, প্লেনে গেলে শুধু যে সময় সাশ্রয় হয় তা না, immigration-এর হ্যাপাও অনেক কম। এক্ষেত্রে কোনো শনি, রবি বা ছুটির দিনের গল্প নেই, প্রতিদিনই immigration হয়।

Q) Can I travel Bhutan in my own car ?
Ans) Yes, you can. Permits for plying of personal Indian vehicles may be obtained from the transport office (RSTA) which is situated at Phuntsholling bus stand.
The following documents are needed for the same :-
i) Original Registration certificate of vehicle, plus two photocopies.
ii) Original Insurance Paper, plus two photocopies.
iii) PUC of vehicle.
iv) Your Driving license, if you do not wish to hire a local driver.
প্রসঙ্গত জানিয়ে রাখি - ভূটানে নিজের গাড়ি নিয়ে গেলেও লোকাল ড্রাইভার দিয়ে চালানোটাই বেটার। হতে পারে আপনার driving skill দারুণ, কিন্তু ভূটানের পাহাড়ি রাস্তায় এক একসময়ে এত মেঘ আর কুয়াশা হয় যে সামনেটা পুরো সাদা লাগে। এমতাবস্থায় স্থানীয় ড্রাইভার ছাড়া গাড়ি চালানো বেশ ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ ব্যাপার, অতএব সেটা মাথায় রেখে যা করার করবেন।
Q) Where should I stay in Bhutan ?
Ans) এর উত্তরটা দুই ভাগে ভাগ করে নেওয়া যাক:-
1) Phuntsholling - There are numerous hotels in Phuntsholling, but please note that you only have to stay there for immigration purposes and not for any sightseeing. Thus your target should be to avail hotels near the Immigration Office at Phuntsholling. Under such circumstances, it is not mandatory to stay at Phuntsholling itself. You can either stay at Phuntsholling or in Jaigaon, because these two cities are just divided by an open gate (Bhutan Gate), through which you can freely move bothways (that is, both towards Jaigaon and Phuntsholling).
সুতরাং আপনি যদি গেটের এপারে জয়গাঁও-এর কোনো হোটেলে থাকেন তাহলেও চলবে। যেটা দরকার সেটা হলো Immigration Office থেকে walking distance-এর মধ্যে থাকা, সেটা Jaigaon-তে হোক অথবা Phuntsholling-এই হোক।
আমি দুদিকের হোটেলেই থেকেছি, এবং আমার অভিজ্ঞতা অনুযায়ী Jaigaon-তে থাকা অনেক ভালো। দামের হিসেবে সমগোত্রীয় হোটেলের চার্জ Phuntsholling-এ অনেক বেশি, এবং খাওয়াদাওয়াও বেশি ব্যয়বহুল। একমাত্র মদের দামটা কম, তবে ইচ্ছে হলেই সেটা আপনি গেটের ওপার থেকে কিনে আনতে পারেন।
There are many hotels in Jaigaon, among which my recommended one is "Hotel Kasturi" (Ph : 03566-263036/ Mob - 9609857940).
আমার মতে এটাই জয়গাঁও-এর বেস্ট হোটেল, অন্তত এই মুহূর্তে। খাওয়াদাওয়া ভালো, ব্যবস্থাপনা ভালো, দামও এমন কিছু বেশি না, আবার দু-পা হাঁটলেই ভূটান গেট, এবং গেট পেরোলেই ইমিগ্রেশন অফিস।

It is advisable to get a preliminary quote from any reputed travel agent, check the above-mentioned website to see the category of hotels provided by the agent, follow the hotel reviews in TripAdvisor, make a screening as per your judgement and then contact directly with your screened hotels for final selection and booking. If you get a better price from the travel agent then it's fine, but need to ensure that they don't deviate from the enlisted hotels as mentioned in their brochure, or else you may land up in a comparatively inferior hotel.
Q) What about smoking in Bhutan ?
Ans) Buying, selling and consumption of tobacco/tobacco-related products is strictly prohibited in Bhutan. However, one can carry a maximum number of 800 cigarettes in Bhutan (আগে 200 sticks ছিল), after giving 200 percent surcharge of the same. You will get a receipt after payment of surcharge, which is practically your license for smoking in Bhutan. However, you cannot smoke in open roads as per their law. You can only smoke in designated smoking corners of your hotel.
এটা গেল official কথা। এর বাইরে অনেক unofficial ব্যাপার আছে, তবে ওপেন ফোরামে সেটা আলোচনা করা ঠিক হবে না। এইটুকু hint দিয়ে রাখছি যে ধূমপায়ীদের চিন্তিত হওয়ার কোনো কারণ নেই।
Q) ভূটান ভ্রমণে মোটামুটি কত খরচ হতে পারে ?
Ans) প্রথমে গাড়িভাড়া ধরুন। ধরা যাক আপনার 5N/6D trip, from Phuntsholling to Phuentsholling. মনে করুন আপনারা 4 adults যাবেন, অর্থাৎ ছোট গাড়িতে হয়ে যাবে। এই ধরণের গাড়িভাড়া per day হিসাবে 2500-3000 টাকা পড়বে, depending on off-season or peak season. আপনার তাহলে 6 দিন হিসাবে 15,000 থেকে 18,000 টাকা গাড়ি বাবদ খরচ হবে। প্রতিটা হোটেলে 4 জনের জন্য দুটো করে ঘর ধরুন। সঙ্গে যদি বাচ্চা থাকে তাহলে তার বয়স অনুযায়ী এক্সট্রা চার্জ আলাদা। এবার কিরকম হোটেল নেবেন সেটা আপনার ব্যাপার। সেই অনুযায়ী 5 রাতের হিসাব ধরে গাড়িভাড়ার সাথে add করলেই approximate total expenses বেরিয়ে যাবে।
উদাহরণ হিসেবে ধরা যাক hotel cost per night per room is Rs 2500 on an average. তাহলে 25000 টাকা হোটেল আর 18000 গাড়ি = 43000, which divided by 4 will give you cost per person, that is, Rs 11000 approx.

সঙ্গে Jaigaon/Phuntsholling-এ এক বা দুই রাত থাকা (যাওয়া এবং ফেরার সময়, যদি প্রযোজ্য হয়) plus pick-up and drop charges from airport/rail station.
যদি 4 জনের বেশি ব্যক্তি হয় তাহলে Innova ধরনের গাড়ি নিতে হবে, যার চার্জ Rs 3500-4000 per day, depending on season. এই ভাবে একটা rough idea পেয়ে যাবেন টোটাল খরচ সম্বন্ধে।
Q) How to plan an itinerary for Bhutan trip ?
Ans) আমি একটা খসড়া প্ল্যান দিলাম, আপনার সুবিধা অনুযায়ী সেটা modify করে নিতে পারেন।
Day 1 - Arrive at Jaigaon/Phuntsholling, check into your hotel, overnight at Jaigaon/Phuntsholling.
Day 2 - Complete the immigration formalities at Phuntsholling and proceed to Thimphu, check-in at your hotel, overnight at Thimphu.
Day 3 - Thimphu local sightseeing and make permits for Punakha.
Day 4 - Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula pass, visit Punakha dzong, check into your hotel, overnight at Punakha.
Day 5 - Check-out from Punakha, visit the Chimi Lakhang temple (temple of the Divine Madman), proceed to Paro via Dochula pass, check into your hotel, overnight at Paro.
Day 6 - Tiger's Nest Trekking or Paro sightseeing, overnight at Paro.
Day 7 - Excursion to Haa valley via Chele-la pass, and proceed upto Damthang if possible. Damthang is 15 kms away from Haa, and is the last border point of Bhutan. এখান থেকে নাক বরাবর গেলেই সেই কুখ্যাত Doklam, যেটা নিয়ে ভারত-চিন মন কষাকষি চলছে।
Have lunch at Haa and return to Paro via the same route.
Day 8 - Paro to Phuntsholling/Jaigaon/Hasimara/New Alipurduar (according to return journey).
If your return journey is from NJP or Bagdogra then it's advisable to stay at Phuentsholing/Jaigaon at night and proceed for NJP or Bagdogra the next day as per your train/flight timings. Paro to NJP is a matter of 9 - 10 hours by car if you go there directly.
Day 9 (If applicable) - Phuntsholling/Jaigaon to NJP/Bagdogra for return journey
Special note - If you want to visit Bumthang then some more days are required. The route is Punakha to Phobjikha (night stay at Phobjikha) ---> Phobjikha to Bumthang (overnight at Bumthang) ----> Bumthang excursion (overnight at Bumthang) ----> Bumthang to Punakha (overnight at Punakha) ----> Punakha to Paro, then remaining tour as per above-mentioned plan.
*****The road to Bumthang is in a very bad shape at present, যার ফলে বেশিরভাগ tourist এখন ওদিকটা avoid করছেন। আপনি অবশ্য ইচ্ছে করলে যেতেই পারেন, তবে পরতায় পোষাবে কি ? মনে হয় না ! ইন ফ্যাক্ট, Tiger's Nest Trekking ছাড়া ভূটানের কোনো জায়গাতেই খরচ অনুপাতে চোখ এবং মনের সুখ পাবেন না। একগাদা খরচ, অথচ যা প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য দেখবেন তার চেয়ে ঢের গুন বেশি আমাদের দেশেই আছে। নিশ্চয়ই ভাবছেন এত কিছু জানা সত্বেও আমি কেন ভুটান গেলাম, তাই না ? বন্ধু হিসেবে শুধু আপনাকেই বলছি, দয়া করে কাউকে বলবেন না যেন ! ব্যাপারটা হলো যে আমার ভায়রাভাই গতবছর ভূটান ঘুরে এসেছে। এরপর না গেলে কি শ্বশুরবাড়িতে মান-ইজ্জত থাকে, বলুন ?
